Photodynamic Therapy (PDT) is a treatment in which Levulan® (5-aminolevulinic acid or ALA) is applied to the skin. It is subsequently "activated" by specific wavelengths of light, either the Intense Pulsed Light treatment (IPL), the BLU-U Light, or both. The use of Levulan dramatically increases the outcome of Photofacial treatments. A consultation is required prior to treatment in order to determine which procedure would be most beneficial for you. |
